- max coldroom external dimensions (or min. internal dimentions.)
- average outdoor temperature
- kind of material you are going to store
- how this material will be loaded into the coldroom (forklift, hand truck, etc.)
- door dimensions and number.

To design the refrigeration units properly the following data are required:
- average outdoor temperature
- product loading temperature
- type and quantity of product to preserve or refrigerate
- amount of product stored each day.

To design a freezing tunnel properly the following data are required:
- type of product to freeze
- quantity and time expected for freezing
- dimensions and weight of the product to freeze and of its possible packing
- product loading temperature.
